Artist's Comments
A recent commission that took me just about a month and a half to do. For a while, I couldn’t think of anything; which was part of the reason for the time. Then the rest was just painstaking work, which was all worth it in the end.
It took me two hours just to sketch all the kanji on the coins. I got references from different eras of actual Chinese coins; unfortunately they were bronze or even brass cast, not gold. We’ll just ignore that fact however.
I forgot to try to take nice photos or maybe even a scan of it before I mailed it, this is all I’ve got *sobs*.

ANYWAY though, the colouring is fantastic. There's not really any other way to put it. It's just so realistoc, and looks like it would could actually be an illustration for a book, or something.
The coins look wonderful, so detailed( The shading and lighting on them is lovely, and from what I can see of the kanji they look beautifully elegant.
The shading on the cards is probably one of the most realistic parts of the picture, and also one of the most subtle. It looks photograph good.
I LOVE the cat and the goldfish too....The cat's eye looks so menacing and focused and alive, and its fur is so sleek and shiny. The blending on the goldfish looks beautiful.
You deserve much praise for this!
